Attribute Variation

A product attribute is an attribute that you give to a product. This is important because this allows the customer to customize the product to their specifications. We advise that this method is quite advanced and only used for extra purposes. A more simplified version is the product add-ons found below.

To set a product attribute first hover over the product and click on ‘Edit‘ and then set the product to ‘Variable Product‘. Variable product can be seen when first entering the edit product page under the ‘Product Type‘ drop-down menu. Next scroll down until you find ‘Attribute & Variation‘. Click custom attributes, and from the drop-down menu select the attribute selection you would like to apply. Go across to the values tab and add your attributes. Make sure you do not add too many Attributes and Variations because each combination will later have to be modified.

Next make sure that the checkboxes: Visible On The Product Page and Used For Variations have been selected. Where it says Add variation you can select this box and add All Variations to automatically add all variation combination of products. Or you can manually add each variation combination you would like to add by selecting the variation type to the right and clicking go.

Once you have added All Variations the next step is that each combination of variation created requires its own price to show on the website. To do this click on one of the variations that was created and to the left there is a box that says regular price. Enter a price here. Leave everything else the same and repeat for each variation combination. Once completed click on Save Variations and Save Product. You can check the product on a different page in a different internet browser because you must be logged out to view your product.
